CASTEL ROCCHERO
Just a small village?
A whole kingdom to me!

"A tiny borough on the top of a hill,
a handful of houses scattered in the grassland.
This is Castelrocchero,
the town hall, the church, the pear tree,
the inn
and a single grocery shop
that also sells newspapers.
And the farmhouses - dozens of farmhouses
parched in the warm summer sunshine.
The castle stands, aloof and proud,
remindful of a more primitive lifestyle -
in some ways, of course, whereas in others
somehow, I suspect, they were
more advanced than us."

Titti Finicelli (Castel Rocchero, 2004)
The traditional sign welcomes you inside a cosy, bright, unobtrusive space, as the Monferrato tradition prescribes. Your senses will be pleased by the natural materials - wood, wrought iron, copper, ceramic, stone - and the aromas of traditional cheeses and sauces that can hardly be found elsewhere. The warm, diffused light gives the guests the impression of travelling back into the times of yore, ideal for dining in good company. antica osteria, osteria, piedmont, monferrato, castelrocchero, traditional courses, recipes, wine, cheese, tradition, asti, alessandria, nizza, acqui terme, raviole, rabaton, Piedmontese mixed fry, tripe, green garlic spread
